Sinalopato
combination dove & duck hunts start with a morning dove hunt,
then break for lunch and a siesta, and duck hunting in the afternoon. Dove hunting in Los Mochis is fast and furious and the hunting
spots are as close as an 18 minute drive from the hotel! Hunters,
their guides and bird boys are taken to fields where they pass
shoot huge flocks of doves as they fly into the area to feed. Mourning
doves are bagged from daylight till mid-morning and White-wing
doves start flying around 8-9:00am. There is a good reason we call
our dove outings “Hot-Barrel Hunts,” there are a ton
of doves here! After lunch and siesta, the afternoon duck hunts
use airboats that whisk you at high speeds over 2”-8” of
water to your duck blind. Flying just over the top of the water,
you’ll be astonished by the variety of ducks and grandeur
of this spectacular hunting paradise. Once you are in your blind,
the airboats are used to keep the ducks flying and decoying into
your spread. After the first box of shells, you’ll start
calling your shots. There is that many ducks to shoot at!
Sinalopato is comprised of vast marshlands as far as the eye can
see and provide a perfect habitat for a variety of ducks, many
of which are scarce in the United States. The typical limit of
ducks bagged usually include Black-bellied Whistling Tree duck
(Pichiguila), Redhead, Cinnamon Teal, Green-winged & Blue-winged
Teal, Gadwall, Canvasback, Fulvous Whistling Tree duck, Mottled
duck, Widgeon, Pintail (Sprig), Shoveler and Mallards. Black Brant
and Speckle Belly geese hunts are available during the months of
November and early December. Ducks bagged in February and March
make wonderful taxidermy specimens! Los Mochis has several taxidermists
to mount your trophies or we can prepare them for your favorite
taxidermist back home.
